LAKE TAHOE
WINDJAMMERS YACHT CLUB RACES and AWARDS
Tahoe Cup Sailing Instructions - The Tahoe Cup (the
award is presently a silver challis) is a race series of
designated races thru one season of the LTWYC races. Designated
races this season have an astrik. See LTWYC Race Schedule.
A contender races their boat in the LTWYC races and must
be a regular member of the LTWYC. The series is scored to
the boat and the same contender should skipper the boat.
Alternate skippers may be designated if the regular skipper
is not racing. This is intended to encourage skippers to
race their own boats and discourage "ringers".
Racing is under the Racing Rules of Sailing and the Standing
Sailing Instructions of the LTWYC.
Scoring is under the Racing Rules of Sailing with exceptions
as listed: (1) One throwout is permitted. Throwout may be
a DNS. A boat serving committee boat duty may use that race
as a throwout or , (2) may take an average of her other
scores for that race. See rule 90.3 and Appendix A. Low
point system will be used.
Boats are scored in overall corrected time for all boats.
Winner may be from any division. Recognition will also be
given to top performing boat in cruising/nonspinnaker divisions.
